Hybrids - timber & log accents

A growing form of construction is the combination of either timber frame or log post and beam and convention construction.   Often this form of construction is used when a client wants the timber frame or log structural forms in one part of the house while keeping the remainder of the home conventional construction.   This forms main advantage, is that the " resort home " architecture can still be achieved while lowering overall project costs.

DESIGN

To achieve the timber/log look often timber or log structural elements are incorporated to the common areas, main entry or to the exterior of the home.   As well, interior posts, beams, fireplace mantels, stairs and railings may be added to complement the building theme.

The amount and locations that showcase timber and log are completely up to the owner and different species can be used for structural or esthetic purposes.

LOG FUSION

Log fusion is a mix of both handcrafted log and post and beam construction.   Fusion is either constructed with log rounds below or above the windows in full scribe style and the remainder of the house constructed out of post and beam.
