HYBRID LOG AND TIMBER HOMESHybrid homes are a mix of either log or timber with conventional construction. This style is increasingly becoming more popular. Designs incorporate timber or log elements for great rooms, entryways, gable accents, balconies, stairs, railings and mantles. Timber or log components can be designed to suit virtually any layout and can be used in a structural application or as an architectural accent only. Some of the most challenging projects we have completed are hybrids. What makes hybrids complex is the interface between conventional construction and timber or log. Careful coordination between the framing crews, pre-fabricated truss supplier and finishing crews needs to be done.
