MATERIALSOur location in the East Kootenays, allows us access to some of the finest timber in the world. From perfect stands of Douglas Fir, Spruce, Pine and Cedar in the Columbia Kootenay Basin or Coastal Western Red Cedar we use only the best materials. Most of our logs are winter harvested, when trees have a dormant cycle and the moisture content is lowest and allowed to season for over the course of a year. For our log structures we can use green or dead standing timber either from Lodgepole Pine or Douglas Fir. For timber projects, we most often cut our own timbers reducing cost while ensuring the highest quality timber is used in your home. However, when requested we can use a few local suppliers who offer kiln dried timbers. |
